IVCT (Isovolumetric Contraction Time): The interval from mitral valve closure to aortic valve opening. During this phase all valves are closed and the ventricle contracts isovolumetrically, building pressure without ejecting blood. Measured by pulsed-wave or tissue Doppler.
IVRT (Isovolumetric Relaxation Time): The interval from aortic valve closure to mitral valve opening. During this phase all valves are closed and the ventricle relaxes isovolumetrically, with pressure falling without filling. Prolonged IVRT suggests impaired relaxation; shortened IVRT may indicate elevated filling pressures.
Ejection Time — duration of flow across the semilunar valve
