EASI — Eczema Area and Severity Index

Validated measure of eczema severity assessing erythema, edema, excoriation, and lichenification across body regions.

The EASI (Eczema Area and Severity Index) is a clinician-administered scoring system for assessing atopic dermatitis severity in children by evaluating the extent and intensity of eczema across four body regions (head/neck, upper extremities, lower extremities, trunk). This validated tool standardizes severity assessment, enables objective tracking of treatment response, and facilitates communication about disease burden for clinical and research purposes. EASI scores correlate with quality of life impairment in pediatric atopic dermatitis.
